Friday nights just got better! The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center and the city of Eunice will share the culture, music and cuisine of Louisiana's prairies through a monthly program, "Friday Nights at the Liberty". The program features a healthy Cajun cooking demonstration at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center, followed by a performance at the historic Liberty Theater next door. The Liberty will feature a range of performances every month including: live music, comedians, and plays.
The first Friday will pay tribute to one of Louisiana's favorite musical sons, Jimmy C. Newman. The tribute will feature Newman's son, Gary Newman, playing his father's music with the Jambalaya Cajun Band. Other tribute participants and performers include Pope Huval, Terry Huval, and Barry Ancelet.
