    Zydeco Breakfast

    In preparation of the Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival, the Zydeco Breakfast is back again with live music featuring Corey Arceneaux & the Zydeco Hot Peppers and delicious offerings from local downtown businesses. Vendors will feature a unique assortment of breakfast menu items for sale from Bloody Marys and coffee to Clifton Chenier Casserole and pancakes. Local restaurants and bars around the Courthouse Square include Java Square, Back in Time Restaurant, Palace Café, Dairy Queen and The Brass Rail. So bring your lawn chairs, and enjoy the entertainment in a relaxed and charming setting in the heart of downtown Opelousas.

    35th Annual Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival

    In 1981, fearful that Creole and zydeco music were dying out, a group of concerned citizens organized the Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival. Today, the event features the best in zydeco in addition to some swamp-pop, swing, R&B, and southern soul artists.

    Saturday, Sept 2 - Zydeco Breakfast
    The Annual Zydeco Breakfast is Saturday morning, hosted by the City of Opelousas, Zydeco Capital of the World. Bring your lawn chair to enjoy live entertainment in a relaxed and charming setting in the heart of downtown Opelousas. Last year’s breakfast included Bloody Mary’s, coffee, Clifton Chenier Casserole, and pancakes.
