LT. GOV. NUNGESSER UNVEILS NEWLY INSTALLED ZYDECO CAJUN PRAIRIE BYWAY SIGNAGE
WHAT: Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, the Louisiana Office of Tourism and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development are unveiling new road signs marking the Zydeco Cajun Prairie Byway.
Stretching over 270 miles through the parishes of Acadia, Evangeline and St Landry, the Zydeco Cajun Prairie Byway offers travelers the opportunity to explore the communities of the Cajun Prairielands of Louisiana. From the accordion craftsman to Cajun dance halls, the rice and crawfish fields to hometown Cajun eateries, the Zydeco Cajun Prairie Byway takes visitors on a journey into this uniquely Louisiana way of life.
“The Zydeco Cajun Prairie Byway illustrates the tale of our history from the Acadian settlers to all the people and cultures that have come to call the Cajun prairielands their home,” Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser said. “It’s just one of the ways we can share our special heritage with visitors.”
Louisiana Byways attract travelers to the state’s natural beauty and opens doors to local history and culture.
